Summary: You may remember the amazing news footage of a few years back of the Bank of America Robbery in North Hollywood, California, where two gunmen, dressed head to foot in body armour and armed with AK47 assault rifles had a shoot out with the police in which over 1500 rounds of ammunition were fired. This is the story of that incident. The 44 minutes of the robbery itself are re-created with great authenticity and it really is a case of truth being stranger than fiction, with the police having to go to a local gun shop to buy better guns, because the bullets from their pistols are just bouncing off the gunmens body armour. The film is worth watching for this segment alone.Unfortunately the section leading up to the robbery itself, where we meet the main protagonists in the shoot out and the scene is set, gets the full-on hollywood schmaltz treatment, which greatly detracts from the film as a whole, hence only 4 stars, but for an amazing last hour this film is definitely worth watching.
